Make the colors work
A portfolio of vivid illustrations often benefits from restrained surfaces. A text-led portfolio can support a stronger accent. Compare the same representative project image against a light and a dark option before selecting a direction.
A consistent action color, caption treatment and spacing system usually contributes more than a different accent on every project page. Keep project-specific color inside the work itself unless the changing navigation is intentional and remains understandable.
The homepage is only one state. Check captions, inline links, quotations, forms and the contact action on the longer pages. The studio’s article preview helps expose a palette that looks convincing as swatches but becomes tiring or unclear around substantial text.
