Project / A considered starting point

Food & menus color palettes.

Appetizing accents around accurate photography, clear prices and easy-to-read menus.

The collection

Original sRGB combinations. Each detail page includes website roles, CSS and measured pairs.

Make the colors work

More than a set of swatches.

Let photographs keep their own color

Tomato Market can frame bright food images without recoloring them. Compare the light panel and page behind several dishes, not just a single matching hero. A neutral caption area helps the interface stay consistent.

Design the ordering details

Prices, allergens and availability should remain readable at normal text sizes. Give the order button a stable role and describe unavailable items with text. Do not use red or green alone to mark dietary categories.

Try it on a real task

Use a representative menu image to extract a starting accent, then crop around the food rather than a bright table prop. Keep the photo-derived color as a reference and let the studio adapt its control roles for contrast.
