Make the colors work

More than a set of swatches.

Avoid a single blue for every job

Blueprint reserves different values for the page, reading text and action. A light blue surface needs a deeper link color; a dark theme needs a lighter counterpart. Keep the original brand as a reference while adapting those roles.

Check cool neutrals against content

A cool gray can noticeably tint the space around a warm photograph. Preview actual imagery and plain paragraphs before choosing it for every surface. Use whitespace to separate competing temperatures.

Try it on a real task

Keep a blue action fixed while comparing a neutral and a cool-tinted surface. Inspect the link, focus and input-border pairs in both choices. Those small details determine whether a restrained interface remains easy to use.
