Project / A considered starting point

Dashboards & tools color palettes.

Start with a quiet hierarchy, then give actions, status messages and data distinct jobs in both themes.

The collection

Original sRGB combinations. Each detail page includes website roles, CSS and measured pairs.

Make the colors work

More than a set of swatches.

Separate brand, action and status

A dashboard needs more than one attractive accent. Keep the original brand as a reference, use a clear primary action, and define success, warning, error and information roles separately. Add words and icons so the message survives color-vision differences.

Check dense and interactive states

Secondary text, input boundaries, focus rings and hover labels need attention alongside headings. Preview a realistic amount of content and use the pair matrix to investigate combinations beyond the intended role checks. Neither tool certifies the whole application.

Hand off a system, not a screenshot

Export named tokens and keep the editable project with the implementation. Custom roles can cover product-specific needs; editable scales provide candidates for additional surfaces or states. Audit the actual pair whenever a scale color becomes text or a meaningful boundary.
